I had no idea what to do for this post and then "I'll Keep Holding On" by Simply Red came to my mind and I thought, "This is everything I hope my students do not ever feel as a result of their life choices while they are here." This song is about regret, wasted time, things you cannot take back. It was a hit in 1986 and it is beautiful, but it is also depressing. It might be a trigger.
Whatever we have done good or bad, however successful or unsuccessful we have been at attaining our goals, however we may have behaved socially, whatever opportunities we may have missed in any area of our lives, let us not remain stagnant in glory or disappointment. You are not merely the sum of your mistakes and your victories. Keep growing. Keep learning. Just keep on, keeping on. An object in motion tend to remain in motion. The alternative is this song.
